Julie Clark (K-5)

Julie Clark is ecstatic to have been selected to teach in The School for Young Performers’ elementary school program, focusing on traveling families. Her current world-schooling students amaze and inspire her to provide a creative and rich learning environment each day.

Julie has spent her entire career in education. After graduating from Texas Woman’s University, she began her career as both a generalist and special education teacher in the Arlington and Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School Districts. Over the course of her three decades in education, Julie’s passion for students and their learning has been paramount and continues to drive her teaching to this day. An unflinching ally for students to receive the very best academic experience possible, and striving to build enduring, rewarding relationships with families, coworkers, and administrators, remains her priority. Julie Clark tells her students,” I may not be the best teacher you have ever had or will have, but I will give you the best of me.” In addition to her role as an educator, she spent most of her career as a department leader in both special and general education, overseeing teams of teachers, teaching assistants, and hundreds of students. For more than a decade, Julie spent her career as a department leader for the homebound program in Texas independent school districts. Her role was to coordinate education across all district campuses, working with both educational staff at district campuses and medical staff at local hospitals, as well as families of students with severe medical conditions who were unable to attend school. She also had the unique privilege of teaching students at their homes or at a hospital bedside while they were recovering from a serious medical condition. In May of 2025, she retired from public education but remains passionate about continuing in the role of teacher, mentor, and learner.
