Megan Simmons

Megan earned her BA in Theatre Arts from McDaniel College and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Mount St. Mary’s University. She began her calling to teach students with Emotional-Behavioral Disorders (EBD) in 2005 acting as a Behavior Management Specialist and later as a high school teacher in 2007 in one of Maryland’s non-public special-education schools. Most recently, she has served in a variety of positions throughout the education system: teaching English in high schools, acting as Theatre Department Head, Director and Thespian Sponsor, Title I Liaison and Licensed Trainer for the International Institute of Restorative Practices. Megan believes that everyone deserves to experience the growth that comes from empowering oneself through education. She is thrilled to teach with SYP!
